Executive Director

Allentown Parking Authority
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The Allentown Parking Authority is seeking a highly qualified Executive Director who will play a pivotal role under the direction of the Board of Directors. The Authority, responsible for managing, supervising, and administering an efficient system of on-street metered parking – 1500 metered spaces - and off-street parking – 8 parking garages and 22 surface lots - within the City of Allentown, is looking for a leader who can balance the parking needs of residents, employees, business and property owners, and visitors. The executive director's overall responsibilities include overseeing all day-to-day operations of the Authority, implementing and/or updating parking system policies, and managing all parking facilities and Authority properties. This is a unique opportunity to impact the parking landscape of Allentown significantly.

Qualifications:
• Ability to effectively manage a municipal parking system of similar size and scope to Allentown, PA.
• Ability to plan for responsible growth and maintenance of the parking program.
• Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory relationships with employees and the public.
• Ability to issue clear verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to understand and explain the parking program to the public.

Desired Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Ten years of management experience.
• Experience managing municipal or private parking systems is desirable but not required.
• Experience in a highly visible, public-facing role with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Salary Range:
$120,000 - $135,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.

Part-Time Event Staff

This position has you directing guests parking their motor vehicles in our parking facilities, collecting fees and utilizing various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems. The hours are flexible and the shifts include evenings, weekends and holidays.

Facilities Equipment & Operations Department Supervisor (Maintenance)

The FEOD Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation of the parking garages and all surface lots.

Maintenance Technician

General maintenance of parking facilities, equipment and properties, including repairs, snow removal and cleaning. Hours and Shifts vary. Full-time positions available.

Parking Enforcement Officer

Hours of work - Either Wednesday-Sunday or Saturday-Wednesday 3:00-11:30PM

Customer Service Representative

You will interact with customers to address their concerns, answer their questions and assist them with their needs.
