The Allentown Parking Authority has 33 different parking facilities in Allentown, including the five parking decks listed below. Most of the APA parking areas offer long-term monthly contract parking as well as hourly, or “pay as you go”, parking. These lots are conveniently located in center city Allentown, for people who need a place to park while shopping or doing business downtown.
Locations and Descriptions of Parking Decks
Hess DeckHess Deck Located in the 800 block of Linden Street, this 700+ space deck is visually distinct due to the double ‘helix’ (corkscrew-like) design of the exit ramp. This deck is conveniently located for patrons of the shops and restaurants located in the vibrant 800 and 900 blocks of Hamilton Street. This deck has an attendant on duty 7 a.m.—7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Use this deck to take advantage of our ‘Free After Five!’ offer.
Linden DeckLinden Deck More than 300 spaces are available in this deck that has an attendant on duty from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. This deck is used by jurors reporting for jury duty at the Lehigh County Courthouse, and is also used for various special events.
9th & Walnut DeckWalnut Deck With more than 500 spaces, this deck has an attendant on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Located at the corner of 9th & Walnut Streets, this deck also has an entrance from Maple Street, one from 9th Street and is conveniently located just to the south of Hamilton Street.
Government DeckGovernment Deck Built in 2007, this deck includes state-of-the-art parking technology that allows parkers to enter and exit the facility without an attendant being on-duty. Built to serve the needs of the government district, this deck has spaces for approximately 600 vehicles. The Allentown Police Department and City fleet vehicles also use this facility, which is located at 4th & Hamilton Streets.
Transportation CenterTransportation Center Also built in 2007, this facility includes a 500-space parking deck, an intermodal transportation center, a convenience store and a Dunkin Donuts. Located at 6th & Linden, this is a self-parking facility which does not require an attendant. Conveniently located near the Allentown Art Museum, Baum School of Art and Allentown Symphony Hall.
